HEAD IMMOBILIISATION

Immobilization

Immobilization is all about prevention – preventing further injury to the trauma patient while on scene or en route to a facility

Ever since the introduction of the Single-Piece Rigid Extrication Collar in 1981, we’ve helped train countless Providers who’ve learned to trust Laerdal's immobilization solutions. Solutions like the BaXstrap – our contoured spineboard designed for patient comfort, the Stifneck Select – our standard sizing method adjustable collar, and the new Stifneck Pedi-Select adjustable pediatric collar.

HeadBed™ II Head Immobilization Device

The HeadBed II HID coupled with BaXstrap Spineboard and Stifneck Select Collar creates a system in which both the patient and the rescuer can benefit. This water-resistant, disposable head immobilizer provides superior immobilization and the best patient access possible.

PadPack™ Alignment Pads

In most cases padding is necessary to maintain the cervical spine in neutral alignment during immobilization. Place a pad under the occiput of an adult to prevent extension and under the torso of a young child or infant to prevent flexion

SpeedBlocks® Head Immobilizer

SpeedBlocks offer a simple four-step process for application, a unique multi-axis blocks system to accommodate all head shapes and injury positions, and direct access to patient's ears for better communication and inspection
